In September 2022, Netflix in the US released Season 11, and you could already be itching for more. The good news is that more are coming, and we might start seeing Call the midwife season 12 early as 2023.
We should probably check out where Call the Midwife is available on Netflix before getting started. At the end of September 2022, the show was only available in two regions. Seasons 1 through 11 are in the US, whereas seasons 1 through 9 are in the UK, which was supposed to lose the show. Call the Midwife is not anticipated to be released in any additional areas any time soon.
Season 12 of Call the Midwife, will it air again?
It has been confirmed that Call the Midwife will return for a 12th season. Currently, the program has been renewed for a 13th season.
Per the BBC, There will be seasons 12 and 13, as the program is currently renewed in the UK through 2024. A Christmas special and eight episodes will make up each new season.
Heidi Thomas, Creator, Writer, and Executive Producer, said on the additional season renewals:
“It’s an incredible privilege to be able to look back on a decade of Call The Midwife, and yet know that our journey is still very far from over. We are thrilled to be going on for a few more years! Like Nonnatus House itself, we have a proud past but an even more exciting future – full of old favourites, fresh faces, higher hemlines, new ideas. The stories we tell are like babies – they never stop coming, we love them all, and we vow to do our best by every single one.”
When will Call the Midwife season 12 be on Netflix?
According to UKCastingNews, We could expect the show to maintain a consistent schedule as production on season 12 began in March 2022 (on a schedule similar to that of previous seasons).
In that situation, the show would begin broadcasting in early 2023, wrap up by spring, and then launch on Netflix in mid-to-late 2023.
Most previous seasons have arrived in September so our best guess is that season 12 will be streaming on Netflix US in or around September 2023.
It’s unknown when fresh seasons will be available on Netflix in the UK. Since they usually receive new seasons about two years after their original airing, season 12 won’t be available until at least 2025, and possibly even later. All 11 seasons as well as season 12 will be available on the BBC iPlayer if you have a TV license. If you don’t have a TV license, you can currently watch seasons 9 and 10 on BritBox.
